Who we are

Lok is a software studio, a business registered in Israel. We run this website and decide how the information described below is used. You can reach us at hello@lok.tech.

What we collect

Information you give us, through the contact form:

• Your email address or phone number, which is saved as soon as you press Continue, even if you never finish the form.
• Your name and the description of what you would like us to build, when you send the request.
• The site language you used and the website address the form was sent from.

Information collected automatically, by our own analytics (see "Analytics and cookies" below): the page you viewed, the website you came from (the domain only), whether your device is a phone, tablet or computer, and the campaign tags in a link if you arrived from one of our ads. We do not record your name, email or the content you type into the form in analytics.

Why we use it

• To reply to your request and to talk with you about a project.
• To confirm that the contact details are real: we send one confirmation link to the email address or phone number you gave, and your request only counts once you open it. This keeps spam out.
• To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it.
• To keep the site secure and to limit abuse, for example by rate-limiting repeated requests.

We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting the form, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing a business website.

Analytics and cookies

We measure visits with a small script of our own. It runs on our servers; no third-party analytics, advertising pixels or social-media trackers are loaded on this site.

It sets one cookie, named _a_vid. It holds a random visitor identifier, it is set by our own domain, it is not readable by scripts, and it expires 7 days after your last visit: every visit renews it for another 7 days. It lets us tell a returning visitor from a new one. When the cookie does not exist yet, the identifier is made from a one-way hash of your IP address and browser, salted per day, so the address itself is not stored. We do not use it to follow you across other websites, and we do not share it.

You can delete or block this cookie in your browser settings at any time. The site works the same without it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We use a few service providers that process it for us, only to run the service:

• Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), to send the confirmation email.
• Twilio, to send the confirmation text message, for Israeli mobile numbers.
• Our hosting and infrastructure providers, which store the data described above.

These providers may process data outside Israel. We may also disclose information if the law or a competent authority requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your request and contact details for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any project that follows, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time. Analytics events are kept in aggregate form for understanding site usage over time.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to hello@lok.tech from the address or number you gave us, and we will answer within a reasonable time.

You are not legally required to give us this information. Without it we cannot reply to your request.

Security

The site and the API use encrypted connections. The tokens and confirmation codes that protect a request are stored only as one-way hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to what is needed and we fix problems promptly.

Children

This site is for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will say so on the site.
